Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade: Lea Michele wears a red coat to belt out Don’t Rain On My Parade

Singer and actress Lea Michele made a Thanksgiving appearance on Thursday.

The 36-year-old Glee vet wore a bright red dress and black fur hat from her Funny Girl Broadway show as she sang Don’t Rain On My Parade.

Along with the amazing balloons, the parade will also include 28 floats, 12 marching bands, 700 performers and several music stars scheduled to appear on Thanksgiving Day.

The star spoke to Good Morning America in NYC about stepping into the big shoes before performing a song from the show.

Lea shared, ‘Everyone knows my love for Barbra Streisand, I’ve expressed that from Glee, since I was little, and she did Funny Girl the way it is and we would love it if she came on the show.

As for returning to Broadway, he said he’s excited.

“It’s so exciting to be part of the Broadway community, to come home for me, I love it so much,” he said.

‘I started performing at the age of eight in Les Miserables and now many years later to return to Broadway in my fifth show, it was a dream come true for a star like Fanny Brice in Sweet Girl.’

As for playing the show and being a mother to her two-year-old son Ever, she says she’s doing her best.

“I think, I have a great husband, he’s nice, he helps. But it’s a challenge. My son knows I sing and I go to work,” she said.

He also told his son that he loves him and will see him later.

The star was also in costume to perform the song Don’t Rain on My Parade with the cast of Mapenzi Girl.
