Lindsay Lohan reacts to ex-boyfriend Aaron Carter’s death

Lindsay Lohan paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend Aaron Carter, who died on Saturday at the age of 34.

“My heart goes out to his family and may he rest in peace,” the “Falling for Christmas” star, 36, told “Entertainment Tonight.”

“And God bless him…” he added. “And yes, just [a] lots of love there.”

In a separate “Access Hollywood” interview, Lohan shared that she cherished “a lot” of memories from her time dating Carter in the early 2000s.

The “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” singer started seeing Lohan shortly after she and fellow star child, Hilary Duff insisted on ending their young romance.

During a 2005 interview with CNBC’s “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch,” Carter explained how his unresolved feelings for Duff, now 35, created a complex trajectory involving Lohan.

“I started dating Hilary on my 13th birthday. I was dating her for a year and a half, and then I got a little bored, so I went and started dating Lindsay, dating Lindsay,” he explained, adding that Duff “was hurt very heart,” which. he felt “sorry” about.

Around that time, the “Freaky Friday” actress told People that everything was fine between her, Carter and Duff — despite the apparent love triangle.

“Aaron and I were friends. That’s my past life. It was, like, a few months ago, you know. She is a good person,” he said as a teenager, according to “Access Hollywood.” “We are friends. Hilary is a good girl. I wish her all the best.”

For her part, Duff spoke about Carter’s sudden death on Saturday.

“To Aaron- I’m so sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world,” the former “Lizzie McGuire” student wrote via Instagram this weekend.

“You had a personality that was quite effective… my boy really liked you.”

Duff concluded her message by telling Carter to “rest easy” and that she was “sending love” to her grieving loved ones.

Carter, the younger brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, struggled with addiction and family trauma in the final years of his life. He was found dead in the bathtub of his home in California.

“Aaron worked very hard towards the end of his life on recovery, being a good father and making amends with his family,” his rep told Page Six following the sad news.
