
Tech is in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, and therefore, there there are many experiences and reliefs within walking distance. To choose The house that best suits the needs and wants of Tech students is very much important, so location is important. While your Tech students learn and grow, time spent outside campus is just as important.
Here’s a guide to living near Tech that highlights some important attractions and places that every Tech student should know about, especially if they’re planning to move to the city.
Midtown
Level
The Standard is located in Midtown and is within walking distance of campus-related areas such as Tech Square and the CODA Building, which has great nibbles, from Asian fusion to a classic slice of pizza. As for entertainment, The Standard is within five minutes of some of Atlanta’s attractions, such as the Fox Theater, which showcases music and a variety of musical artists.
Score
Located within a five-minute walk of the Midtown MARTA Station, The Mark is an apartment complex with access to many dining options and experiences. Just one MARTA station is the Arts Center, which has attractions like the Woodruff Museum of Art and the Woodruff Art Center.
The Mark is located near Peachtree Street, which has many restaurants such as Anh’s Kitchen and Blue India, as well as great places to get sweet treats like Sweet Hut, an Asian bakery and boba shop with something for everyone to enjoy. Consider visiting the dog park at Piedmont Park, grabbing breakfast at The Flying Biscuit, and then heading to Peachtree Street for more fun!
West Campus
West Campus Student Housing
These student residences (Zbar, Maulding, Nelson Shell, Woodruff, Center Street, Eighth Street, Crecine) are within walking distance of Atlantic Station, an outdoor commercial area that hosts a movie theater, ballpark feet, shops and restaurants. There are often community events such as live music, yoga sessions and markets promoting local vendors. Students can also take the free Atlantic Center Shuttle to visit music venues like The Loft and Center Station. There is also another shopping center called The Interlock within walking distance of the Flats, which includes a miniature golf experience called the Putshack, a small swimming pool and cocktail lounge called The Painted Duck and many restaurants and shopping.
Home Storage
Located near west campus, Home Park is a residential neighborhood with lots of charm and within walking distance of favorites like Rocky Mountain Pizza and Anticos. Rocky Mountain Pizza is a great place to grab a slice of pizza and hang around for their trivia nights and live music events. For something sweet, be sure to stop by Sublime Donuts, a 24/7 donut shop with a huge variety of delicious treats.
North Road
North Avenue apartments have the benefit of being close to some of Atlanta’s most popular attractions, such as the World of Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park. And the North Avenue MARTA Station is a short walk away away, students living here have a quick and easy way to access a popular area of use. It is also relatively close to one of the largest event spaces in Georgia, the State Farm, which hosts a variety of shows.
